Today we're launching a new series of posts here at Charlotte Munro all about some of our favourite wedding venues in London and the South East. There are so many options when it comes to wedding venues that its easy to loose sight of exactly what vision you have for your wedding, and what requirements you need to meet for the happiness of yourselves and your guests, but we've done the hard work for you, and are happy to recommend all of the venues coming up in this series of posts.
To start us off we've chosen what is considered by many as one of London's most luxurious wedding venues. Claridges is iconic, glamourous and synonymous with elegance. Everybody who's anybody, from Audrey Hepburn to royalty has stayed in the luxurious suites over the hotels long history.
From intimate dinners to lavish banquets, Claridges has a room to suit. The ballroom, with its private entrance and shimmering art deco interior is perfect for a large wedding reception, with the space catering to up 500 guests. Designed by Guy Oliver to each the orginal décor of the late 1920's, the platinum-leafed columns and hand engraved mirrors exude elegance and sophistication, and lend themselves to almost any colour scheme a couple could wish for.
The Dining Room
For smaller weddings the Dining Room is the perfect setting. Filled with natural light and featuring two statement fireplaces it can host up to 120 guests and is perfectly for classically elegant wedding design.
The French Salon
For a more decadent feel the French Salon is rich in texture and intricate details. With original features including winged renaissance-style cherubs over the doors, the French Salon is the perfect backdrop for rich, opulent wedding style. Think ruby reds and deep purples.
Claridges also offers some unusual and enticing wedding treats for couples who book with them.
First Dance Lessons
A waltz worthy of Astaire and Rogers. A tango straight from Buenos Aires. Turn the first dance into an unforgettable moment with Claridges first choreographer-in-residence.
Award-winning Marius Caluser will guide couples through every step, with private classes at his Mayfair dance studio. The final rehearsal takes place in the art deco Ballroom, followed by champagne in the Fumoir.
An introductory class is complimentary for all couples marrying at Claridge’s. Additional lessons – if you want to create a personalised routine, for example – can be arranged directly with Marius.
Couples can also unwind from the stresses of wedding planning with Claridges Cloud 9 package. With complimentary use of the Health club & Spa whenever you feel the need, you can relax with a massage, workout or anything else you fancy. Available for the 9 weeks leading up to your weddings, it's available for any couple who book their wedding in the Ballroom, Dining Room or French Salon.
