Last month we had the pleasure of planning a luxury wedding evening at the beautiful Criterion Restaurant. At the heart of London in Piccadilly Circus, Savini at The Criterion is majestic in its opulent décor and esteemed history, with its stunning gold mosaic ceiling and original features dating back to 1873 it’s the perfect back drop for luxury weddings.
We really wanted to showcase what’s on trend for weddings at the moment and into the next year, and bring together a mix of old and new, where the historical and decadent backdrop of the Criterion meshed with the new and up-to-date style of weddings in the coming year.
Focussing on Pantones colour of the year, violet purple, we teamed this with pinks and decadent gold to create a luxe colour palette that could work for almost any season. I love adding textures into a wedding design, as for guests weddings are such an immersive experience, for this evening we decided to combine sumptuous velvet table runners with ivory damask linen. Crystal elements and geodes are so on trend right now, and they add that extra depth of sparkle and luxury. And with purple being the colour of the year, Amethyst was a natural choice for inspiration.
Amie Bone created a truly stunning array of florals that matched perfectly with our vision and brought the table to life with extravagant blooms and a stunning floral runner.
Elizabeth Solaru of Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium created a stunning display of wedding cakes, from single tiers to an impressive 7 tiered floral creation with gold details.
As part of the evening guests were able to samples scents from Sniph’s range of perfumes. Sniph is the new way to discover and buy premium perfumes, by a monthly subscription service that allows members to discover 12 new premium scents annually, a perfect gift for your bridesmaids or wedding party!
I also worked with the wonderful team at The Marshmallowist to create something a little different, a marshmallow wall! Doughnut walls are beautiful and still very on trend, but we’re always looking for new ideas for our clients weddings, and what could be better than a wall of fluffy deliciousness?
The Wedding Club dressed models in beautiful gowns from designers such as Reem Acra and Carolina Herrera which Victoria Percival teamed with braided hairstyles and elegant makeup.
Videographers Urban Cinematography were on hand to capture the behind the scenes, showing exactly what goes on in the set-up of one of our events, with Sanshine Photography beautifully capturing the evening.
The evening turned out to be a huge success and a good time was had by everyone. We couldn't have done it without our wonderful team of suppliers, and this is an area that I feel is one of the most crucial elements of working as a wedding planner and stylist, knowing suppliers and wedding businesses that can deliver stunning creations time after time.
