Wedding dress shopping is fun, and an exciting journey for most brides. But if you are a bride who is looking for something a little less than traditional, it can be hard to find exactly what you're looking for. In the sea of ivory dresses it can be easy to loose sight of you, your style and your personality. Remember you're not just "a bride", you're still you! Today I want to talk alternative options. If ivory and lace isn't working for you, consider these ideas instead.
If White Just Isn't Your Thing
If white (or ivory as most dresses are these days) just completely washes out your skin tone, why not consider a coloured wedding dress? Many designers now offer multiple colour options in their collections. Blush, champagne or silver, the possibilities are endless.
Steering Clear of Strapless
A well fitted strapless dress can look absolutely amazing. But if you've never worn a strapless dress in your life, you don't have to start now. Bridal designers are moving away from collections full of strapless numbers, and there are some absolutely stunning sleeve options on the scene right now. (Did you my rundown of the latest wedding dress collections?)
Jumpsuits and Separates
You might not even want to wear a dress at all! Bridal separates are now a thing, with endless combinations of tops, skirts, even embroidered denim jackets! Jumpsuits are also a great option for girls who love to live in trousers. House of Ollichon have a great selection of separates and jumpsuits which range from fun to elegant.
If you decide that a more traditional gown is the way for you, accessories are a great way to let your personal style shine through. There are lots of options, but my personal favourite has to be a statement shoe!
What if you want to stay traditional for your ceremony, but love to dance the night away? Why not consider a second outfit? This gives you the best of both worlds and doesn't have to cost the earth, with some fantastic high street options proving you can be bridal glam whatever you wear.
