Hello! I hope everyone is enjoying their May so far! Down my road we are lucky enough to have a number of gardens with an abundance of bluebells and in the past 2 weeks they have flourished, which reminded me of this wedding photo shoot I styled last year, taken in the gorgeous bluebell fields of Ashridge Forest and featuring a stunning flower crown by Indecor Flowers.
This lead me on to thinking, are flower crowns over? Have they had their day? I'm sure some people would say so, however I adore fresh flowers in a brides hair, it's such a romantic look and is perfect for a spring, summer or autumn wedding. On that note, I thought I would round up my favourite floral hair styles from weddings and photo shoots I have worked on in recent years.
The Chic Chignon
This style is perfect for brides who have a wedding dress with a feature back and want to show it off! Curl hair for a soft and romantic feel, or keep it straight and sleek for a chic feel.
The Tousled Top Bun
Top buns are all about fun! A little bit sassy, they are also perfect for adding a bit of height and elongating the neck (think of the pictures!) I love how each of these styles have incorporated flowers differently but are equally stunning.
Incorporating blooms into braided hairstyles can help to soften a structured look.
One of my absolute favourites, this look was created by hanging fresh flowers from a hair band which sat in amongst Dani's gorgeous tousled locks. A complete statement on its own, this look doesn't need anything else!
The Classic Flower Crown
Finishing up with the much loved flower crown, from dainty daisies to these beautiful pieces full of flowers and foliage, you can be as bold as you like with this style. To ensure you look fresh and blooming for every photo, consult your florist for advice on the best flowers that will last all day.
So which style is your favourite? Are you planning to hair fresh flowers in your hair?
